PV Solar Enhance™ – Part 1 is designed for the transparent front surface of solar panels.
PV170 is an invisible Polysilazane Polymeric Resin coating specially formulated to upgrade the performance and longevity of solar panels. It has special UV-blockers to provide complete UV protection to the clear front surface that it is applied to while increasing light transference. It ensures high-temperature resistance and provides excellent protection against corrosion, weathering, and thermal cycling damage.
Solar panels perform better when they are cooler and rapidly lose performance capabilities after 30°C / 86°F and above. The nano-scale silicon dioxide and titanium dioxide ingredients within the ‘PV Solar Enhance’ formulation greatly help to enhance the solar panel voltage output performance while reducing solar heat gain.
The unique chemistry of the PV170 nano-ceramics is designed to fill in the nano-porosity of the surface and covalently bond at a molecular level to create a durable, super-slick, non-conductive, anti-static smooth surface on the face of solar panels. This protective nano-ceramic, anti-static barrier helps to ‘self-clean & protect’* the surface from the bonding and accumulation of dirt, dust, sand, pollen, fog, ice, and other organic debris while extending and amplifying performance.
The new surface improves light transference and efficiency, giving improved performance throughout the day, absorbing ambient light earlier and later while improving power production on cloudy days.
PV Solar Enhance is environmentally responsible; it contains no fluorinated chemistry, no VOCs, no Halogens, and no silicon; it is benign, non-toxic, non-leaching, and inert once cured.
PV Solar Enhance is easy to apply with outstanding scratch protection and can last for years in normal conditions. Reapply and touch up as necessary during regular servicing in high wind and sand attrition areas. It can be applied in-field to strengthen and reinforce panel protection and extend the lifespan. Use in conjunction with Part 2:
PV186 PV Solar Enhance – Part 2 Heat-Dissipating Nano Ceramic Clear Coat was designed for solar panels’ body, casing, and rear. Expels heat 42% faster than copper to ambient air. It effectively draws power-robbing thermal heat out of the panel to dissipate the heat rapidly into the surrounding environment. This proprietary advanced military-grade, Polysilazane nano-ceramic chemistry of ‘PV Solar Enhance’ has the unique ability to rapidly expel thermal energy from a heated substrate to cooler ambient air. Keeping panels cool and clean ensures they work at their best. A cooler panel produces more power, reduces thermal damage, and extends the panel’s life.
For marine applications, we have two product variations available under our Tecmari line:
TL170WG for Safety Coating Available with Non-Slip Wet Grip (WG) for increased safety if the panels are being walked on when wet.
TL170FT-WG It may also be ordered with fine texture (FT) to provide a dry grip surface; however, this should be measured as the texturing element could impact power production.

Application
- For proper application of the PV170 PV Solar Enhance Nano-Ceramic Super-Slick coating materials, the intended surface (being metals, Glass, plastics, or painted or powder coated surfaces) should be cool to the touch, clean, and free from oils, dirt, and any other unwanted previous contaminants that may have been on the surface.
- Note: this coating will not stick to silicone; it is designed for glass, plastics, and metals.
- Applying the BL170 to a clean (as possible) panel surface face is best for optimal performance.
- BL170 may be applied in the shade or in direct sun without issue and is typically used on smooth glass surfaces where one or two applications** are all that is necessary to seal the surface. When on used or in-service panels, it is recommended to apply two coats for optimum performance, as the surface has more environmental attrition, wear, and scratches.
**The first coating layer is applied to fill fine scratches, voids, pits, valleys, and surface porosity. The second layer is applied after the first is applied, dried, and buffed to even out the surface and provide as smooth a finish as possible to help eliminate dust, dirt, and ash collecting on the surface.
- The substrate temperature should not exceed <105°F / 40°C during application; as long as the surface is not hot to the hand, it can be applied.
- Shake the container well; the product must be applied at full strength and never diluted.
- Factory application can be made with HVLP spray, passed under a warm airflow <105°F / 40°C Maximum, completely dry to a dusty haze, followed by a gentle rotating buffing unit to remove the dry residue. Use some care not to scrape the fresh coating from the surfaces***.
- Application of the Solar Enhance product can be via a trigger spray bottle or may be applied by a wipe-on method directly to the glass, plastic, or acrylic surfaces using a clean, lint-free cloth or thin pad.
- We recommend using a thin pad dampened with some of the product for both approaches. Do not oversaturate the pad; you will waste product, and your effective coverage rate per gallon will drop.
- If using a trigger sprayer, we recommend holding the sprayer 4” / 10cm away from the surface and spraying two layers on the PV panel in an overlapping cross pattern. Uniformly work the product into the surface with a product (PV170) dampened pad – Or:
- Apply with a thin product (PV170) dampened pad or lint-free cloth in an overlapping circular motion to cover the entire intended surface of the panel. While the product is still wet, work it into the surface in an overlapping circular motion. Go around backward and forward to fill all micro-pores or minute scratches. Leave behind a uniform thin beige wettish film on the treated surfaces, and allow it to dry completely before gently buffing it to a polish. Use some care not to scrape the fresh coating from the surfaces***.
- Once the Solar Enhance has dried to a powdery, dusty beige haze, lightly wipe the surface, remove the beige haze, and use a clean microfiber cloth to buff it to a fine polish gently. Leaving a clear super-slick Polysilazane nano-ceramic protective film, creating a new surface. Applying a second coat on used panels is recommended to ensure an even finish and optimum performance.
- ***The Slick properties will continue to become harder and more durable; as time and/or elevated temperatures allow the product to continue to cure and crosslink to a higher level. The fully cured coating has high abrasion and impact resistance – With hardness above 9H.
- PV170 may be re-applied and recoated as often as wanted or needed to achieve the desired results without fear of delamination, discoloring, or loss of performance. We recommend inspecting panels every 3-6 months for regular maintenance, depending upon atmospheric conditions, pollen, dust, and ash from fires or volcanos.
- Tool or application equipment clean-up – use acetone, MEK, or similar solvents
Storage Safety
Keep away from children. Store only in the original container. Keep away from direct sunlight. Store the containers sealed in a cool and well-ventilated place. Keep far away from heat sources, open flames, sparks, and other ignition sources. Keep containers away from any incompatible materials.

This is the coverage based on spraying alone. We recommend the use of a product (PV170) dampened thin pad.
The more product you add to the pad, the lower your coverage rate per square foot.
